Easter and What Came After!

We celebrated Easter Sunday at my brother and sister-in-law's home with a delicious Brazilian BBQ and a special afternoon inaugurating our very first Easter tradition with our little ones!

Here goes a picture marathon!!

I took 12 large plastic eggs and with the help of Pinterest (of course!) placed a simple symbol in each one, complete with the accompanying Bible Verse, telling the Easter story.  The idea was that the children would find the 12 eggs and we would read through the story, showing the symbols in each egg to help them visualize it all.  With three little boys all 2 and under, it was more chaotic than calm but our goal is that each year they will understand more and more about the true meaning of Easter!  And I might add, the children LOVED it!  The little boys were so excited about finding and opening the eggs it made it all worth it.

The tomb is EMPTY!!!

And a few of my children actually playing quietly for a few moments one day:

And this week's adventure:  another hospital stay.  This time it was our little boy child fighting a bout of pneumonia and what they thought was probably a case of the Influenza that has become an epidemic here in Brazil recently.  His bloodwork came back clear, eliminating the flu possibility and after 3 days of strong IV meds, he is home finishing his antibiotics and treatments at home!

We.are.so.glad.to.be.home.  We are most grateful to the Lord for His protection and healing over our son and for the marvelous doctors and nurses at Sabara Children's Hospital for their amazing care for Noah Miguel.  Truly they are heros.  The hospitals in Sao Paulo are maxed out, with families waiting in the hallways for rooms.  There are just too many sick children as pneumonia and this influenza sweep our city, attacking the most vulnerable.  Nurses and doctors are working around the clock to try and stem the tide and we are most grateful for those who worked so tirelessly to get Noah as well as possible in as little time as possible.  WE ARE SO BLESSED.

Because Noah was in isolation, visitors (and especially his sister) were highly discouraged for everyone's benefit and protection.  Daddy's visit this day was the highlight of our day!

Doing his own inhalation treatments.  We had much fewer fusses about doing it if he was allowed to hold it himself!

So good to see this precious smile again

This morning he is up and ready to go!

Also, a highlight was my friend, Kamila's, visit on Wednesday.  We waited 24 hours for a room so until we had a private place of our own we were in a little curtained off cubicle in Observation.  There was no way to control Noah's moving about and he wanted to make friends with all the sick children there and run in the hallways.  I had not slept at all Tuesday night and had a migraine to top it all off. Kamila came to spend the day with us, bringing snacks, drinks and a lot of love and companionship. She played with Noah, allowing me to curl up on his tiny bed and shut my eyes for a few moments. What a huge blessing.  Only God knows how much I needed her that day and only He can bless her as she blessed me.

Yesterday before we were released we had another sweet visitor, bringing our visit to a sweet end. She was a volunteer, there to bring toys and cheer to the rooms of children in isolation.  I don't even remember her name but she was such a dear and even spoke English! She helped me carry my bags down to the waiting area.  My BIL, Binho, picked us up and took us home.  Thank you a million times over to all who supported us in picking us up, playing with Noah, caring for Noah, sending me encouragement via Whatsapp and FB, praying for us all, visiting us and always standing by us through thick and thin!

God bless each of you.  You are our angels!

                                                                               Hugs,
                                                                                   Jama

PS One message I received yesterday said, "praying you don't have any more hospital visits this year!"  Just know I gave a loud, firm AMEN to that prayer!!!
