Routine or Lack of It!

These are my children every blessed morning, drinking their soy juice.  This particular morning I thought it was so sweet they were sitting next to each other, enjoying their early morning "babas" the coined word for bottles, water bottles and sippy cups at our house!  Most mornings they are up and at it by 6am...this morning it was 5:20am.

Chloe, sneaking in selfies while mommy is not looking!  I found some interesting pictures just now when I downloaded to the computer.

With daddy unemployed and Chloe on medical leave from school for 50 long days, we have little routine at our house.  Once in awhile you can see glimpses of one: kids up early, drink their "babas" and then start turning the house upside down with toys, pots, pans and art supplies (with a tiny house it takes about 5 min. to turn my orderly apartment into chaos!), mommy stumbles to kitchen to make the desperately needed first cup of coffee for the day.  Daddy gets up soon after, sits down at the computer to "work"(send resumes, answer emails, follow up with contacts) and stays there all day long unless his lunch is ready, has an interview or resolving several things we are trying to get in order.  Four nights a week, at 5:30pm he eats a light dinner and leaves for school.  He gets home at midnight. Wednesdays he gets to be home with us.  With everyone home for lunch everyday, I have to actually cook every.single.blessed.day.

For those of you who know me well, I operate really well on a routine or at least a semblence of one. A lack of one is very challenging for me.  I am being stretched in many ways with everyone home all day long in our 500sq.ft home.  Until the last two days, it has been cold and rainy so walks and outings have been held to a minimum.  The last two days have turned HOT, so at least we can go to the park for a couple hours.  Chloe is feeling housebound and mommy is feeling housebound.  And His grace is enough.  Lord willing, in three weeks little missy will have her pins removed and maybe, life will return a bit more to a routine...at least for Chloe!  At the very least, baths will be way easier! And until then, His grace is sufficient!  And in spite of a lack of routine, my husband and I are getting lots of stuff dealt with.  One big one is getting our son's documents in order: besides his Brazilian birth certificate, his documentation is sadly very behind.  At nearly 13 months, he has one of his needed 6 documents.  Our children are duel citizens: they have three official documents for each country.  At least well when we get it all in order.

So, here's to another week ahead.  Whether there will have routine or no such thing...obstacles or opportunities...accomplishment or spinning of wheels...a lot of it depends on my perspective, I know. Here's to praying for a right perspective.

Happy Saturday Afternoon to All,
Jama
