It's A New Year, A New Start, A New Blog!

This blog has long been in the making...in my head, that is!  New things are sometimes a little scary for me.  Like changing blogs, for instance.  It takes me so long to learn the hang of most things in cyberspace and I cringed to think of the immense amount of time I would need to spend learning the ropes.  But here goes!  Bear with me as it will be a work in progress.  But I feel if I don't start now, I may never start and it is one of my new goals for this year.

Happy 2013, by the way!

May this be the year that we are looking ever more for the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

I want to share something that a precious friend and mentor of mine shared with me way back in college.  I never wanted to forget it so have written in the front of every single journal I have filled since 2005.  She encouraged me during a particularly exciting, yet challenging, time in my life to remember to LIVE.  "Never forget to simply LIVE, Jama."  The Word of God says we have power in our tongues.  Power to breathe life or death.  We have the choice each day to live or to die.  How I yearn to truly LIVE each day with life, vibrant, living, breathing LIFE.  How I long to breathe LIFE into every life I touch today.  I pray for a tongue that speaks only LIFE to those around me and not death.  Here I share my special acrostic with you.  This is what I have written in all my journals.  I added the acrostic to help me never forget what God taught me during that season of my life.

Laugh a lot...it chases away the clouds
Intimacy with God...an absolute necessity
Vital relationships...invest in them
Enjoy the journey...even the bumps!

As we face a new year, new opportunities, new challenges and new joys, may we never forget to LIVE!

Blessings, Jama

  2. I love this idea of not forgetting to live. I found myself at a point in my life where I was wishing time away and I came to the realization that I was wishing away the gift of time that the Lord had given me. Live fully in the moment and the anticipated event will seem to come faster.
