(Side note: how in the world do I chose from so many pictures during 8 marvelous days???)
We are on our way, our wonderful vacation starts today! The children at the little rustic restaurant where we ate lunch on our way to the beach on Monday, January 18th. |
My precious friend, Vanusa and on this trip also my companion, nanny, cook, navigator & counselor! |
Vanusa and the little man. The following pictures are just a few snapshots of 8 glorious days full of rain, sun, water, sand, beach food (horrifically fattening but oh so yummy!) and hours and hours of enjoying God's creation and even making new friends. |
It was super exciting that my BIL, SIL and darling little nephew also joined us for the week! Isaac is so not impressed with the fish that his daddy caught on one of his fishing trips!!! |
Ya, like I said, not impressed! |
Dancing with Tio Wellington and Tia Tati! |
Three intense men! |
Two of my favorite women in the world! |
This how the two little guys of the group took their naps all week long! |
We had a couple days of drizzling, cool rain and on this day it did.not.stop.all.day.long. Very disappointing for the children to be stuck at the house all day but we managed with a tent, naps and reading books! |
Later in the afternoon the rain stopped long enough for us to go see the marina. It was much fuller of boats and yachts than I had ever seen. |
My girl and I |
My inlaws also joined us for a few days and here Noah is helping Avo Rosa with some deep cleaning! |
My beautiful almost-six-year-old. Be still my heart! |
Wearing sissy's glasses on his head like mommy!! |
And our wonderful long weekend with daddy! |
Daddy took her kayaking. I tried to go but freaked out 10 meters out and they took me back to the beach. Hard to believe I know. I had always wanted to kayak and then just could not do it. I have a phobia that seriously hinders my enjoyment of being in the water at the beach. I LOVE being at the beach but in the water is another story! |
Waiting his turn. |
These really random and sweet girls made friends with Chloe in an instant and before I knew what was happening they were teaching her to play volleyball! |
She actually caught on really fast. Who knows...someday?! |
Seriously, can we say just hanging out and that it truly is the life? Especially when daddy does all the rowing!!! |
Us |
What is a blog entry without at least one selfie, eh?!! |
My two handsome men |
And life beyond the beach!
We have been home one week.
We have accomplished much as we prepare to head out of vacation mode and into routine mode!
Noah has finally decided to get serious about leaving diapers behind and moving onto better things! Super excited about this and incredibly proud of him. He is doing really well.
My list was overwhelming the day I got home from our wonderful vacation but by God's amazing GRACE, I have almost marked every.single.thing.off.
Good thing. I start working outside the home TOMORROW. Wow. Deep breath. Lord, help me!
Everson goes back to college TONIGHT.
Chloe starts first grade FRIDAY.
Noah has already started his second semester of pre-school and is loving it as always.
I helped give a ladies tea at our church on Saturday and was overwhelmingly blessed to have 16 women in attendance. It was a really special time and I hope each one went away as blessed as I did. I did not take pictures but we eagerly look forward to having regular get togethers every two or three months as we kick off our women's ministry for 2016. May HE get all the glory!
Have a wonderful week, my friends and readers. This is a time of "new" in Brazil: new school year, new year, new beginnings. May He be your joy and strength as we move forward into February (already...seriously. how did that happen already??!!).
Overwhelmingly blessed as always,
Jama
