The Last Few Days of School Vacation

Learning to make straight lines and then cut nicely on the those lines!

The other day I mentioned not feeling well and needing to make dinner all in the same sentence: before I knew it my little girl was buttering bread and getting out a saucepan and "toasting" me a piece of bread.  It was too precious: I almost cried as I ate it.  She really is trying to take care of her not so well mommy.  I then invited her to help me make chicken and pasta.  She was so pleased to help.  I have to make myself SLOW down and take a DEEP breath and let her help in her sweet way.  Takes twice as long to get things done but I have to remember these are vital moments in her development and she needs time with me learning to work and to help.

One of my favorite lunches last week: fish, rice and couve.  I actually really enjoyed this meal.  These days enjoying food is a rare experience for me.  My motto:  This too will pass!

Painting, painting and more painting!

Chloe's school vacation is drawing to a quick close.  She is very excited about going back to pre-school next week.  I will miss her but am looking forward very much about getting back into a good routine and schedule.  I return to teaching English next week as well.  So, here is to our last few days of vacation!

Love, JAMA

PS this post was prepared last week but due to power outages wasn't able to post it.
