Of Birthdays and Dreams

Happy, happy birthday to my husband yesterday!
We are both a bit in shock that the big 4-0 is only 3 years away now!
We celebrated on Sunday evening with taco salad, rice (Brazilian's LOVE their rice!) and brownie sundaes.  We so enjoyed the family and two special American friends that were able to join us.  Here are a few pictures from our evening.

.Some brother/sister loves...
They are always both in non-stop action!

And Tia Juliana made them crowns and brought them today!  They were both thrilled!

And a dream came true for me today in my home...

We have lived in our home for 7 years now.  For 7 years I have dreamed of hanging pictures in my hallway.  It is no small matter to hang picture frames on cinder block walls, so forget the easy peasy part of getting a hammer and nail.  Oh, no ser!  It is quite a process and I had to have my husband's help.  Today he helped me realize my dream...even if they all ended up on another wall altogether!!!  That is my life!  Here I took a really clever Pinterest idea and used paper cut to fit the various frame sizes and tape to place before actually DRILLING holes in my wall.

Finished project!  We painted our living area right before Noah's birth 14 months ago and had never re-hung the few things we did have on our walls.  So today was no small project.  The painting Everson's cousin painted for us in MAY is now over the couch, my picture wall is facing our dining room table and my big S is now in it's place on the wall headed into the kitchen.  Truly may seem a small thing to you but to me, it is pure JOY!  I am so pleased!

So, we went to drill holes in the hallway and suddenly hit us that it was a kitchen wall on the other side, hence full of pipes and tubes that we did NOT want to drill holes in.  So in a split instant I said, well, my french board just got ruined while we were trying to place it on the yellow wall, so let's just move the frames all over to the yellow wall.  Just like that my plans changed but can I say I am more than pleased?  In the hallway few people would have ever seen the pictures and I would have seen them less and the black on the golden yellow is really quite nice.  Much nicer than the picture does justice.  And we did not have to spend hours avoiding pipes, which is always a good thing!  My idea for arranging this wall also came from Pinterest (whatever did I do before Pinterest?!) and it is arranged so I can keep adding frames to it as I find them.

So here's to birthdays and realized dreams.  I hope you have much to celebrate this week and will even have some dreams come true...even if they are relatively small in significance in the big scheme of things!

Blessings and joy on each of you,
JAMA
