Monday Morning Musings...

Fair Warning:
This will be rather random!
It's Monday morning after all.
For me, Monday is rather synonymous with random.

Random messes...
Random lunches...
Random picking up of random piles of random STUFF that accumulates all weekend...

Well, you get the picture.
So, here goes:
USA made it to the next phase of the World Cup Games!  I have been teasing my husband by saying we might just play each other in the final game and he laughs and says what??  "Ha, ha, honey, I live to see the day!"  and I reply sweetly, of course, that stranger things have happened!  One can always HOPE.

Today is the first day of Miss Ladybug's two week vacation and my house is very quiet.  Why you may ask? Yes, exactly.  She is spending the week at her grandma Rosa's house.  I wonder how early she woke her grandma up this morning.  Her mommy got to sleep until 7:30am, a rare and pleasant experience.

I have two cups of freshly pureed pumpkin and NO IDEA what to do with it.  Have to do something today or I am afraid it will soon be too old to do anything with it.  Am thinking about doing this:

The best and most exciting news in my husband's family these days is the expected arrival of a new little person in February 2015!  I am SO excited to be an auntie again and this time to a little baby that will be a bit closer than 8000 miles, so I will actually be abe to enjoy him/her a little more often.  My excitement is truly off the charts...so much I am shamelessly browsing Pinterest for names, nursery ideas and photo ideas...as if my sister-in-law needs help.  Yi, yi!

Speaking of babies, another little niece is due in a couple weeks and though only God knows when I will get to meet her face to face, I am very excited about her arrival too.  I got to see her as a "bump" the other day on Skype and talk to her mommy and big sister.  I was also able to talk to my mother.  Made my Friday very bright, I tell you that.

My parents have been going through some very tough stuff (and if you have time, I know they would appreciate your prayers ever so much), the most recent trial being that last week my mother had a very unexpected surgery.  Praise God she is recovering well in the lovely home of my sweet sister-in-law, because her home is still upside down in renovations from the flooding that occured a few short weeks ago (when a pipe under my parents home burst and flooded 75% of their wood flooring).  Ya, like I said, they have been going through it.  But I am reminded of something I read awhile back.  Nothing comes into our lives that has not first been filtered through the hands of a loving, gracious, sovereign God who loves us more than we can imagine.  So, as my precious childhood friends grieve the loss of their mother to cancer at 58 years old, I can only thank God my mother is alive and healthy.  As I see the hundreds of people living on the streets of our megacity, I can only thank God that my parents have a lovely place to go home to soon.  Truly, we are blessed.

So, on that note I will close this lengthy and random post!  I have a profound post forming in my head, but then it has been forming for months and still has not appeared here.  We will see if I can put it all into words that describe adequately my heart.  Some things are just hard to put into words.  Trite, I know, but true.

Have a fantastic week,
